Load and unload through both short ends
  • Open Top or platform

Buying guide

Which opening makes your work easier?

Door position determines what you can reach

Choose individual side doors for bays with separate access. Choose Open Side for wide side loading. Need access from both ends or loading by crane? Compare a tunnel container, half-height Open Top or platform.

  • Load and opening

Compare the clear opening with the width and height of your load
  • Doors in the right place

Keep the required short ends or long sides accessible
  • Open or enclosed storage

Open Top containers and platforms have no enclosed roof over your load

Let your load and loading method decide

Send load dimensions and weight, an access sketch and site photos. With your postcode and required delivery date, we can assess the model and placement together.

Double side doors are not tunnel doors. Check where the openings are and whether you need one wide opening or several separate access points.

Individual side doors or a fully opening long side?

The 20ft container with two side openings has double doors at each opening, with approximately 2.34 × 2.28 metres of clear access. Choose this layout to reach different storage bays from outside. The 40ft High Cube with four side doors offers more separate access points along a longer container; discuss internal partitions separately.

The 20ft Open Side (FSA) opens along its full long side: the side opening is approximately 5.85 metres wide and 2.19 metres high. It suits wide or long goods and loading from the side. The end door has a different opening; do not use the side-opening dimensions for every door on this model.

Need to work from several sides? The 20ft All-Side-Open (ASO) opens at both short ends and both long sides. It also needs working space and door clearance around the container. Compare more models under containers with side doors and Open Side containers.

Tunnel, half-height Open Top or platform?

The 20ft double-door tunnel container has doors at both short ends. You can reach goods from either end without opening a long side wall. Keep both ends accessible if you intend to use them daily.

The 20ft half-height Open Top has an open top and side walls. It suits top loading of heavy materials or machinery, for example. This is a half-height model; do not treat it as an enclosed container with standard-height walls.

The 20ft platform container has no roof, doors or side walls. Choose a platform where an enclosed cargo space restricts the load. Discuss load securing, weight distribution and oversized transport before ordering; a payload rating alone does not assess the whole transport plan.

FAQs

Practical questions before ordering

About standard equipment, colours, transport, availability and CSC.

The 20ft Open Side, 20ft tunnel container and 40ft High Cube with four side doors compared here have a 28 mm bamboo floor and a lockbox. A lockbox is not a container lock: the matching lock is offered separately as an add-on. The product description lists a steel floor and loading flap for the 20ft half-height Open Top; the 20ft platform also has a steel floor. Check the selected model before adding accessories or a fit-out.
