Do you want to buy a used 40ft High-Cube shipping container for international transport, export or logistics applications? This Quality B container is structurally sound and comes with a CSC certification valid for 12 months after delivery, making it suitable for international transport.

The container has a High-Cube design, which offers approximately 30 cm of additional internal height compared to a standard 40ft container. This extra loading volume makes the container practical for tall or voluminous goods where additional vertical space is desired.

Quality B means that the container is technically and structurally suitable for use, but cosmetically in a worse condition than Quality A. This may include more obvious signs of wear such as rust formation, scratches, dents, previous repairs, or color differences. These optical characteristics do not affect the structural usability or suitability for transport.

As with Quality A, the container is wind and watertight and technically functional. The main difference is in the external condition: Quality A is cosmetically neater, while Quality B may have more visible signs of use. Structurally, both qualities are suitable for international transport, provided they have valid CSC certification.

The container is constructed from mild steel with a plywood wooden floor, as is typical for shipping containers. The exterior color may vary depending on current stock; specific color guarantees are therefore not possible.

This used 40ft High-Cube shipping container in Quality B is a cost-effective choice for transport, export, logistics, construction, and industry when technical usability is more important than cosmetic condition.

Frequently asked questions

All frequently asked questions

What is the quality difference between new and used shipping containers?

New shipping containers

  • Directly from the factory in China
  • Shipped to the Netherlands or Belgium once
  • Equipped with a lockbox, ventilation grilles and door handles at medium height
  • Choice of different RAL colours
    Suitable for storage and transport
  • ISO and CSC certified

Used shipping containers

  • Used in international shipping for around 13 years on average
  • Checked for:
    Wind and water tightness
    Hinges and locks
  • Re-certified to ISO and CSC standards after approval
  • Fully functional for storage and transport
  • Visible signs of use may occur, such as rust, scratches and dents
Is a new container really new if it has been used once for transport?

Yes. A new shipping container is also called a one-trip or one-way container. These containers are produced in China and used once to ship cargo to Europe.

After arrival, the container is unloaded, inspected and lightly repaired if needed. It is then available for sale.

  • Used for only one sea voyage
  • No previous use in international shipping
  • Technically and structurally in new condition
  • Minor signs of transport are normal
  • ISO and CSC certified

Collection directly from the factory is not possible. Empty shipping would cause the same light transport marks as a loaded voyage. Until delivery, the containers are stored outside at our depot.

Do I need a CSC certificate for my container?

Only when you use the container for international transport.

  • You can indicate during ordering that you want to receive a copy of the CSC certificate
  • Used shipping containers: CSC usually valid for 12 months
  • New shipping containers: CSC valid up to 5 years after production date
  • For storage use within the Netherlands, a CSC certificate is not required
Is it possible to collect the container myself?

Yes, this is possible at our location in Rotterdam. Please note that you must collect the container with a suitable vehicle.

  • Collection with a passenger car and trailer is not permitted.
  • Make sure you arrive with suitable transport equipment so the container can be transported safely.
  • Contact us in advance to agree a collection date, so we can prepare the container for pickup on time.
Is it possible to receive photos or inspect the shipping container before delivery?

Yes, this is possible during the ordering process. You can choose to receive photos or inspect the shipping container in advance.

  • If you reject the container, you will receive photos of an alternative
  • If you also reject this alternative, the sale will be cancelled
  • In that case, you only pay the cost of the photo option
  • The remaining purchase amount will be refunded in full
