In many cases you may place a sea container on your own property, but whether you need a permit for a sea container depends on the location, the use of the container and the rules of your municipality. It also matters whether it is a temporary placement or a more permanent solution.

Blijft de container langere tijd op dezelfde plek staan? Dan is vooraf controleren extra belangrijk. Volgens IPLO over tijdelijke bouwwerken geldt voor een tijdelijk bouwwerk een maximale instandhoudingstermijn van 15 jaar op dezelfde locatie.

Private land

In veel gevallen is plaatsing mogelijk, maar u moet extra goed controleren als de container langere tijd blijft staan, dicht op de erfgrens komt of zichtbaar is vanaf de openbare weg.
Wordt de container niet tijdelijk gebruikt tijdens een bouw of verbouwing, maar vooral voor opslag van spullen of huisraad? Dan is vooraf controleren extra belangrijk. Let daarnaast ook op de ondergrond, leveringsruimte en bereikbaarheid van uw perceel.
Commercial premises
Op zakelijk terrein gaan de vragen vaker over plaatsing op een bedrijventerrein, bouwplaats of opslagterrein. Ook hier is plaatsing in veel gevallen mogelijk, maar u moet extra goed controleren als de container onderdeel wordt van een vaste opstelling, langere tijd op dezelfde plek blijft staan of als u meerdere containers op één locatie wilt plaatsen.
Bij zakelijk gebruik spelen daarnaast vaak praktische punten mee zoals logistieke ruimte, interne routing, veiligheid op het terrein en voldoende ruimte voor levering en positionering.
