What is the difference in quality between new and used shipping containers?
New sea containers
- Straight from the factory in China

- Used in international shipping for approximately 13 years on average

Is a new container really new if it has been used once for transport?
Yes. A new shipping container is also called a one-way or one-trip container . These containers are manufactured in China and used once to ship cargo to Europe.
Upon arrival, the container is unloaded, inspected, and, if necessary, minor repairs are made. The container is then available for sale.
- Only one sea voyage used
- No previous deployment in international shipping
- Technically and constructively in new condition
- Any minimal signs of use are normal
- ISO and CSC certified
Collection directly from the factory is not possible. An empty shipment would also cause the same minor transport damage as a loaded shipment. The containers are stored outside at our depot until delivery.
Do I need a CSC certificate for my container?
Only when you use the container for international transport .
- When ordering, you can indicate that you would like to receive a copy of the CSC certificate.
- Used sea containers : CSC usually valid for 12 months
- New sea containers : CSC valid for 5 years after production date
- For storage purposes within the Netherlands , a CSC certificate is not required
Is het mogelijk om de container zelf af te halen?
Yes, that's possible at our location in Rotterdam . Please note that you must collect the container with a suitable vehicle .
- Collection with a passenger car and trailer is unfortunately not permitted .
- Please ensure you have a suitable means of transport that can transport the container safely.
- Please contact us in advance to arrange a collection date so we can release the container for collection in time .
Is it possible to receive photos or inspect the shipping container before delivery?
Yes, that's possible during the ordering process. You can choose to receive photos or inspect the shipping container beforehand.
- If you reject the container, you will receive photos of an alternative
- If you also reject this alternative, the sale will be cancelled.
- In that case you only pay the costs for the photo option
- The remaining purchase amount will be fully refunded to you
